FATHER

2023.3

Materials: Oil on canvas

Size: 30*40 inches

This is a piece about a father and the weight of family responsibilities. At the bottom, the father is bent over, carrying the entire family—his children and elderly relatives—on his back. The use of muted, serious colors conveys the pressure and ordinariness of this situation, highlighting the emotional strain often hidden beneath the surface. The pain is not immediately apparent, as the burden of responsibility has become a deeply ingrained habit for him, reflecting the silent struggles that many face in their roles as caregivers. Through this work, I aim to capture the complexity of love and duty intertwined within the family dynamic.
