This is a set of watercolor paintings about a story I read in The Tale of Genji, in which jealousy turns a woman into a monster. Guangyuan's wife, Aoishang, has a dispute with Guangyuan's lover, Liujo Gojisho, on the way to the Kaga Shigeru Festival. To retreat from her grievances, Aoishang reads the Prajna Sutra and practices the imperial practice. However, after giving birth to a son, she is attacked and violently killed by the creatures of Liujo Gojisho. This story warned me that obsession could destroy a person.
