MENG ZHAOGUO INCIDENT

2024.2

Materials: Metal

Size: 120*160*48 inches

This piece references the Meng Zhaoguo incident, a close encounter of the seventh kind that occurred on June 6th in Phoenix Mountain, Heilongjiang. Meng Zhaoguo and his relatives spotted a large white object on the mountain. When he returned on June 9th with colleagues, he was the only one who saw the object, which was accompanied by an alien. The alien shot a beam of light at him, causing him to lose consciousness and become ill for several days. The Chinese UFO Union later investigated the site. On July 16th, the alien returned took Meng through a wall, and flew him to Phoenix Mountain, predicting that Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 would collide with Jupiter that night—a prediction that came true. Months later, Meng claimed to have had an encounter with a female alien.
