KILL THAT HORSE

2023.10

Materials: Ink on paper

Size: 11*17 inches

This painting tells the story of how I transformed into a horse and then planned to assassinate the horse that was becoming me. This creates a closed loop of fate: we can never grasp a fixed version of ourselves; instead, we continuously die and rebirth with each passing second. The jar has always represented a vessel in my heart, and I see people as containers as well, which is why I enjoy using jars as metaphors for humanity. The element of the hand appears prominently in various forms: reading palm lines can reveal a person's destiny, and when someone opens their palm, it signifies their acceptance of external energy and their willingness to share that energy, reflecting the most fundamental workings of life. When the switch on the palm is turned off, the cycle of life and death is halted, leaving everything in stillness.
